What are PDO threads?
PDO stands for Polydioxanone thread, which is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture, which has been proven to be one of the safest materials to be inserted into the body. The surgical suture material is widely used for various minor and complex surgical procedures all over the world. What is the PDO thread lift procedure like?
The thread lift procedure varies depending on many factors, but it generally takes about 20-40 minutes after topical or local anesthesia. At Glo & Spa-rkle, the procedure will be start by cleansing your face. If a minor PDO thread procedure is being done, topical anesthesia cream will be applied to the area being treated and given time to take effect. For a more extensive thread lift procedure, local anesthesia inject will be performed prior to starting the procedure. The area being treated is then sterilized and the thread lift procedure is performed.
What are benefits of PDO threads?
PDO threads can very effectively improve the quality of skin, redefine the contour of the face, reduce roundedness, lift sagging skin in the cheeks, jowls and neck, enhance the volume of the lips and stimulate collagen production.
How long does the result last?
Visible results can be observed immediately after treatment. These will continue to improve over 3-6 months as new collagen formations occurs in the treated areas. Threads will dissolve completely over time, but the treatment result will last at least for a year or longer.
What are the side effects of PDO threads?
Mild swelling and bruising can occur at the treatment site.
Is there any downtime?
There is little to no downtime after PDO thread procedure. Clients may resume their normal activities immediately after treatment.
Who is a right candidate for PDO thread lift procedure?
Commonly, ideal patients are in their later 20s to age 65. However, younger or older patient with good skin quality may also be candidates. Patient should not have had prior plastic surgery in the area being treated or recent (within 2 weeks) neurotoxin injections. Patient should not have active infection or be on anti-inflammatory medications or steroids.
